Covid-19 Information

NCW Covid-19 Update: 13 March 2020

In his press conference today, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz laid out even more measures to stop the spread of the virus, and recommended that we think carefully about whether it is truly necessary to hold meetings, family gatherings, coffees, etc. at this time, and conduct virtual meetings wherever possible. In light of these recommendations, ALL New City Wien meetings and gatherings are canceled for the upcoming weeks, including the home groups planned for this Sunday. We encourage you to spend the upcoming Sundays in rest, reflection, and prayer for the church, the city, and the world. Below you’ll find a list of Scripture meditations that you can follow on Sunday, as well as links to last week’s sermon on “Covid-19, Worry and the Providence of God”.   In the coming weeks, we plan to record and upload new sermons before each Sunday. During this uncertain time, seek creative ways to reach out to others and bear one another’s burdens. And don’t hesitate to reach out to the elders if you need prayer or a reassuring word. Lastly, let’s all remember the truth of Psalm 91:

   1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

   2  I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress

my God, in whom I trust.”

   3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler

and from the deadly pestilence.

   4 He will cover you with his pinions

and under his wings you will find refuge;

his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

   5 You will not fear the terror of the night

nor the arrow that flies by day,

   6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness

nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

Peace in Christ,

Brad
